Explore your future and launch your career today.We are currently seeking a full-time Associate Maintenance Mechanic to join our team at the Promontory, Utah facility, working directly under the guidance of one or more journey level Maintenance Mechanics.
Associate Maintenance Mechanic perform many of the same tasks as veteran Maintenance Mechanics including, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repair, as well as new construction of on-plant facilities.
The select candidate may perform easier jobs on their own, and act as a helper on more complex jobs while learning the trade.
This Job will require the successful candidate to work a 12 hour rotating shiftPrimary Duties:Demonstrate safe work habits and knowledge of safety rules while performing job functionsAbility to listen, learn, follow instructions and conform to local building codes under the supervision of a qualified Journeyman MechanicFollow through on verbal and written work orders as directed by supervisionAbility to safely use hand and power tools, use personal protective equipment, and maintain job site safetyPerform a variety of related mechanical repair duties at various job sites as required.
For example:Repairs, modifications and installation of all types of machine tools and fabrication machines, such as NC, CNC, Lathes or other equipmentRepairing and maintaining pumps, air compressors, mixers, cranes, pneumatic and hydraulic equipment.Preforming preventive maintenance on equipment and facilitiesInstallation of new mechanical equipmentWelding and Fabrication of new facilities and structuresComplete designated classroom training on own time and without compensation within the established time period to obtain journeyman certification Preferred Skills/KnowledgeAbility to read and interpret blue prints.High School or Vocational School courses in shop, mathematics, and draftingExperience with welding and metal fabricationMinimum Requirements:High School Diploma or GED.2 to 4 years of related experienceSuccessful candidate must be able to obtain a clearance for the Federal Safe Explosives Act (SEA).U.S.
