Reporting to the Manager of Clinical Education, the Professional Development Registered Nurse of Chemotherapy collaborates with the Medical Surgical Manager to identify the educational needs of the Med-Surg Nursing Staff and Patient Care Team. This person provides clinical education and evaluates competency skills of the Med-Surg team in Oncology and Chemotherapy and will serve as an expert in the subject matter.
The Professional Development Registered Nurse of Chemotherapy will have the opportunity to work with medical practitioners, the oncologist team, and the administrative team regarding concerns, education, and policies and procedures related to oncology/chemotherapy care for patients. This person will play a key role in making sure the Medical Surgical Team is confident and comfortable with chemotherapy medications, supplies, and equipment.
