The IT Systems Administrator is responsible for the general administration, security, and upkeep of various systems /platforms across the business.
The position will also identify, plan, execute, and document systems administration-related work across various system platforms, both current and future state.
The IT Systems Administrator will be a technical resource across all teams that collaborate with the IT team and the services they provide.Highlights of Responsibilities:+ Responsible for high-level, day-to-day operational maintenance, support, and upgrades for complex operating systems, workstations, servers, switches, and firewalls.+ Coordinates, directs and performs complex software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages+ Schedules installations and upgrades and maintains them in accordance with established IT policies and procedures+ Continually monitors and tunes multiple systems to achieve optimum performance levels+ Interpret and/or discuss information with others, which involves terminology or concepts not familiar to many people; regularly provide advice and recommend actions involving rather complex issues+ May resolve problems within established practices+ Ensures workstation/server data integrity by evaluating, implementing, and managing appropriate software and hardware solutions of varying complexities+ Ensures data/media recoverability by developing and implementing a schedule of system backups and database archive operations+ Plans and implements the modernization of servers+ Develops, implements and promotes standard operating procedures and schedules+ Conducts hardware and software audits of workstations and servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines+ Develops and implements new standards, policies and procedures+ Works closely with Network and Systems Analysts to help determine and develop the systems that will be implemented+ Guides the work of lower level Systems AdministratorsRequirements:+ Bachelor?s Degree or equivalent related experience+ 8+ years of experience in systems administrationThe post Systems Administrator first appeared on Get a Job Oregon.
